Perhaps the most significant contribution of La Catedral del son is its local influence on present-day Latin music. This Latin based salsa group identifies as the most rising band with the ability to relive the ‘son’ sound that was considered the foundation of today’s Salsa.
When the CEO Black Market Records Cedric Singleton announced his decision to add the group to the family, he made these remarks on his Instagram,
“I want to welcome our first Salsa Band to the Black Market family. Call them La Catedral del son from Havana, Cuba. They are an eight person brand led by Director Loco. La Catedral del son features twenty year old lead vocalist Johana and veteran Puly.”
Although the Black Market Latin family has been in existence for years, we pride this time in identifying a live band, immensely talented, adaptable and multifaceted. Led by DJ Electro, the band screeches of vivacity with the existence of Shamaara, seventeen year old Anjol Dama, Baby Shelby, Superga & Darwin and duo El papi y el intocable.
This makes black market records among the top companies to have artists of different ethnicities and all around the world. Tune in for more updates.
