Words curated by Brenda, Team Psycho is a Kenyan based music group that sings gengetone. They are the minds behind Kata Tenje hit song in 2019. Signed by Black Market Records, the group comprised of three members, Josephyl, Iano Mambling and Nduati Nah but currently the latter is not part of it. Iano and Josephyl have carried on with their music carrier releasing songs like Bad Ass ass with JT the bigga Figga and Bad we bad featuring Kenya\’s own Mbogi Genje. Early this May, Team Psycho released a solo called O.G Ni Nani produced by VicWest. It\’s said that they featured Khaligraph Jones who is widely identified by the slang but we are yet to hear his verse. O.G Ni Nani means Who is the O.G, rather, who runs the street. O.G, from the Urban Dictionary, is a slang word that means Original Gangster. It is mostly used to describe someone who is a legend and \”big\” in the streets, the first of its kind. Iano and Josephyl tell us about their daily ordeals in life on the streets of Nairobi and how they survive it. It has a deadpan delivery of lines with drill type beats.The duo are making a mark and clearly stating who the O.G is. An exciting lineup awaits from them as they are yet to release an EP and give us some refreshing and fine music.
