Black Market CEO Singleton Graces Africon Music Festival 2022.

American music producer Cedric Singleton, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Black Market Records, an international record label, over the weekend graced the Africon Music Festival, which was held in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA.Singleton stormed the star-studded event together with an entourage of celebrated American rappers, music producers, fashionistas, investors among other categories of Africans in the diaspora. The Africon Music Festival is an annual event that is aimed to identifying, acknowledging and rewarding African musicians in the diaspora.The festival happens on the last day of the Africon Conference which runs from May 25th to 28th of every year and this year’s festival was held on Saturday, at Baldwin Hills Mall, 3650 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008. Revellers who attended this year’s event were treated to thrilling entertainment from several acts that included; Band, Tiger, June Freedom, Jae Murphy/Earry Hall, Aponte, Chiefy Chiefy, Stanley Enow, Poizon Ivy, Buju, Jidenna, Nana Kwabena, Stanley Eno, among others.Besides music however, the Africon Conference is aimed at uniting the Global Black Diaspora because it brings together pop culture, music, food, innovation, activism, education, health and business.The conference that kicks off on May 25th, climaxes on the last day May 28th, which is also the same day on which the music festival is held.

Kenyan Boondocks Gang member Maddox Mkuruweng continues to stun haters and critics, thanks to his video ‘Rider’, which has become a dancehall anthem of sorts. A crackling genge tone tune, Maddox literary mashes it up in ‘Riders’ as he gives fans his best. The ‘Rider’ video, which was directed by Tosh, is taken off Maddox’s Extended Play (EP) dubbed ‘Black Canvas.’ https://youtu.be/d4x6uLb1L6w Boondocks Gang is a Kenyan singing trio composed of Maddox, Exray Taniua and Odi Wa Murang’a, which started up in 2015. However, last year they developed misunderstandings that arose after Exray and Odi Wa Murang’a expressed interest to pursue solo music careers. Speaking about how they began, Maddox says the group struggled to raise funds to produce music as they depended greatly on gigs and events which were called off across the country as a cautionary measure.However, although each of the group members went ahead to release several successful songs, they later decided to reunite as the Boondocks Gang after scooping a recording deal with Black Market Records and they are still going strong.
