Shourtie Official, a musician who has out a new jam dubbed ‘My G’, has since joined millions of Kenyans who are protesting the proposed Finance Bill 2024, through which the government of President William Ruto aims to raise taxes on various commodities.

According to her latest post on X (Twitter), Shourtie Official, who is a formidable entertainer, is calling upon all Kenyans to join hands in this struggle, which many of them contend is aimed at suppressing the common man.

“All we have is each other,” Shourtie Official tweeted on Tuesday morning, rallying Kenyans to join the Tuesday, June 25, 2024 protests, themed; Total Shutdown Kenya.

Shourtie Official, who is making waves with ‘My G’, now joins several other Kenyan artists, politicians, students, religious leaders, farmers, and people in various categories who are participating in the protests.

The Anti-Finance Bill protests, largely led by Generation Z (Gen Z) and human rights activists, started in Nairobi on June 18, the day the controversial document was tabled in parliament for debate by the National Assembly Finance Committee Chair Kuria Kimani, and have since entered the second week.
