Ivy Lygue legally identified as Ivy Wangari Gikuma is Kenya\’s youngest proclaimed trap queen and the freshest Signee of Black Market Records Africa. She was born in Nakuru and later moved to Ruaka to pursue her first level of education at City Primary School. While at Hero\’s High School, she discovered her passion for music and began writing rhymes. Her greatest inspiration came from listening to Nasty C\’s songs and watching his videos. She recorded her first track while in form two and has since worked with Tanzania\’s artist Nello on a new track.
Her latest project is her debut album titled \’Big Moves\’ recorded and to be released in 2022,February. The album is an introductory course to the game and talks about her life and goals.
Ivy is only nineteen and probably amongst the youngest rappers in Kenya and Africa at large.
The Kenyan music industry has been growing drastically with the women taking the lead and owning the game. Ivy Lygue is no exception.
