If there is any Ugandan musician making a name for himself in East Africa currently, then it is Jsan Bouy, who recently released a jam dubbed ‘Nshakukunda’, featuring Rwandan Afropop star Sean Brizz.
‘Nshakukunda’ is a Kinyarwanda phrase that can be loosely translated to mean ‘I shall Love You’ or ‘I vow to love you’; in essence, it is a declaration and promise to love.
With this jam, Jsan Bouy, who is a Black Market Records signee, is not only breaking new ground by extending his reach to Rwanda but also imprinting his footing in the East African music industry, since this is a studio project that cuts across ethnicities both in Uganda and Rwanda.
With ‘Nshakukunda, Jsan Bouy, who has several songs already in rotation, proves that he has come of age in the music industry and that he can be consistent in releasing diverse music that is timeless.
This is because he has mastered the art of releasing music that cuts across the age, language barrier and traditions, which anybody in the world can get hooked to once they lend their ear to it.
Click the link to stream ‘Nshakukunda’ on YouTube but don’t forget that the jam is also available for streaming on digital platforms.
