This year’s BSIFF festival, which is running on the theme ‘Inspiring the Business of Film in Africa’, is expected to be bigger than all the other six editions that have come before it, reason why Black Market Records decided to come on board.

Aimed at being an eye-opener for all actors in the industry of filmography and creative arts, the festival will be attended by industry stakeholders from different parts of the world, among them famous actors, actresses, directors, producers and investors.

However, unlike earlier editions, this year’s festival will feature a Master Workshop to be delivered by Black Market Records CEO Singleton on “Branding for Independent Musicians: How to Make You Attractive to Investors, Labels & Music Executives.”

Black Market Records will also support the BEST MUSIC VIDEO award category of BSIFF, whereby the award will thus be named: “BlackStar-BMR Award for BEST MUSIC VIDEO”

The already ongoing festival features five days of celebrating international and African film and cinema, special networking events, pop-up parties, exhibitions, cultural displays, community screenings, exhibitions, BSIFF’s Industry Day and the BlackStar Music Concert (BMC); offering exciting, progressive, relevant and diverse opinions and perspectives on the history, culture, experience and business of film in Ghana and Africa.

Point to note is that the BSIFF is an initiative that was started up by conscious African-Americans with an objective of providing a platform that inspires hope and love for the business of film, cinema, and film-music.

The initiative also aims at supporting independent African filmmakers to reach the right network, worldwide audience, film education, acquire relevant skills and distribution opportunities that push their creative boundaries beyond limit.

Some of the blockbuster movies that are to be screened during this year’s festival include; Talia’s Journey, Hard Shell, Soft Shell, Alossmann, Becoming Black Lawyers, A Second To Suicide and Kony (Order From Above).
