Starring Damboddo, Yung Bealla (Nakigudde), Ben Ssegawa and others, ‘The Story of My Life’ captures the raw emotions of loss, love, and perseverance, painting a vivid picture of the challenges and triumphs of a young man determined to honour his mother’s legacy and create a better future.
Bound to change the scene of Uganda’s film industry, ‘The Story of My Life’ is an emotional and inspiring tale of resilience and hope, about the life of Ssemwanga Albert (Damboddo AD), a rising artist raised by a single mother, Nakigudde, in the small village of Kibwa, Nabweru.
Damboddo’s childhood was marked with struggles and sacrifices because his mother had to work tirelessly by taking on countless menial jobs to provide for him, embodying strength and determination, which later inspired him to succeed.
Despite the hardships, she always believed in a brighter future, encouraging Damboddo with the words; “One day, our story will change.”
However, just as Damboddo begins to pursue his dreams through dance, tragedy strikes, leaving him at a crossroads after he discovers that although he was raised by a single mother, his father lives although he abandoned the family to enjoy life with other women!
