Very few radios in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda or any other country in the region exclusively broadcasts music done by East African artists.

Industry analysts around the region contend that instead of pushing East African music, most radio stations around East Africa concentrate on giving musicians from Nigeria, South Africa, America and Europe more airplay .

However,  it should be noted that this trend is already changing especially ever since Black Market Radio hit the airwaves, after realizing this anomaly in the East African entertainment circles.
