In a bid to give upcoming Ugandan artists an opportunity for exposure and platform to showcase their music talent, Black Market Records has teamed up with Ndejje University TV to run a talent search show known as Kwata Mic.

Airing on Ndejje University TV every Friday night, Kwata Mic is filmed at the Black Market Records studios in Nateete-Wakaliga, every Saturday afternoon.
The show mainly involves freestyle performances from upcoming artists, who are given an opportunity to showcase their musical talent as they are being filmed.

The show often features dancers, musicians and instrumentalists, who are given a chance to perform for a specific period of time, after which the audience is asked to choose the best promising artist amongst the performers.
The footage from the show is later broadcast on Ndejje University TV for participants and their families to watch the performances.
The main objective of this show, according to Black Market Records, is to identify and nurture young music talent in Uganda and to give them a platform for exposure.
We have since established that the show will have prizes to be won by participants in the near future, including but not limited to a recording deal with Black Market Records.
Therefore, make sure you don’t miss the Kwata Mic show this week if you are a true Ugandan music enthusiast.
