It will take a long time for Kenya, if not the entire Africa, to produce another masterpiece like ‘Kuna Kuna’, a record by Vic West featuring Fathermoh, Thee Exit Band, Brandy Maina and Savara.

This is because until Vic West dropped ‘Kuna Kuna’, Kenya and the entire East African region had never released a song that could dominate music charts for 15 straight weeks.

According to the latest updates from Kenyan music analysts Music Charts 254, ‘Kuna Kuna’ is still topping the charts three months after its release.

In the same vein, for several decades, the region had never experienced a song that trends on YouTube for three months nonstop, let alone one that attracts over 11.6M views within that short period.

Well, ‘Kuna Kuna’ has broken all these records and more, because despite the fact that several other songs have been released during the time it has been on the market, none has shown potential to overthrow this jam.

Actually, the ‘Kuna Kuna’ fever has since engulfed the entire world, whereby even people in countries outside Africa are grooving to the jam.

Just a few days ago, ‘Kuna Kuna’ headlined the inaugural ceremony for this year’s World Rugby 7s finals that were held in New Zealand, a purely European country, which is evidence enough that the song has spread far and wide.
