Vic West, a multi-talented artist, director and music producer, who is the brain behind runaway hit ‘Kuna Kuna’, has for the first time shared his music journey, telling fans how he rose from nothing to becoming a formidable force in the Kenyan music industry.

Although he has been around the music industry for some years, Vic West’s name became more resounding on the entertainment scene recently after he released ‘Kuna Kuna’, which features Fathermoh, Thee Exit Band, Brandy Maina and Savara.

Vic West speaking during an interview on Trace FM

Speaking during an exclusive interview today on Trace City, a celebrity show on Trace FM, in Nairobi, Kenya, Vic West revealed that only hard work and resilience have helped him to succeed.

“I’m a videographer, songwriter and producer who has been in the industry for some time now, working so hard and climbing the ladder to success,” Vic West said, adding that;

“Working with fellow producers and artists over the years has enabled me to gain lots of hands-on experience, reason why I do what I do and the way I do it, which is unique.”

However, Vic West also gave credit to fellow Kenyan producer Kash Keed, whom he said helped so much with developing his music career.

“The credit goes to Kash Keed for having helped me out. I remember whenever he released a song, he would tag me along and that was how I started out until I mastered the skills.”

Vic West said that with guidance from Kash Keed and other artists, he managed to work on several successful tracks, among them being ‘Shamra Shamra’, ‘Taki Taki’, to mention but a few.
