Kenyan Boondocks Gang member Maddox Mkuruweng continues to stun haters and critics, thanks to his video ‘Rider’, which has become a dancehall anthem of sorts.
A crackling genge tone tune, Maddox literary mashes it up in ‘Riders’ as he gives fans his best.
The ‘Rider’ video, which was directed by Tosh, is taken off Maddox’s Extended Play (EP) dubbed ‘Black Canvas.’
Boondocks Gang is a Kenyan singing trio composed of Maddox, Exray Taniua and Odi Wa Murang’a, which started up in 2015.
However, last year they developed misunderstandings that arose after Exray and Odi Wa Murang’a expressed interest to pursue solo music careers.
Speaking about how they began, Maddox says the group struggled to raise funds to produce music as they depended greatly on gigs and events which were called off across the country as a cautionary measure.
However, although each of the group members went ahead to release several successful songs, they later decided to reunite as the Boondocks Gang after scooping a recording deal with Black Market Records and they are still going strong.
