Unveiling Boi Blaze & Bossman: The Brains Behind Viral ‘Tenge Tenge’ Tune

The world is booming with ‘Tengelele’,  an Amapiano tune popularly known as ‘Tenge Tenge’, which has since gone viral on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and several media platforms, yet very few people, if any, know the actual brains behind this runaway hit.

From American RnB star Chris Brown to international content creators like IShowSpeed from the USA, Noel Goes Crazy and other showbiz icons, ‘Tenge Tenge’, which is posting millions of views across various social media platforms, is the latest international hit from Uganda!

Well, today, Black Market Records officially unveils Boi Blaze aka Shark, and Bossman Wurld, who are the two people who are taking Ugandan music to the world with ‘Tenge Tenge’, a sound that has since taken the globe by storm.

In an exclusive YouTube interview, Bossman, who is one of Uganda’s leading music producers currently signed to Black Market Records, takes us through how he hatched the idea of composing the ‘Tenge Tenge’ right from scratch to the explosive hit that it has since become.

Speaking about how he came up with the idea for the tune, Bossman told this website that; 

“I was in the studio one day when my colleague Boi Blaze showed me a video of a wide-eyed boy that had gone viral on TikTok. Due to the big engagement the video was attracting, he jokingly asked me to develop a tune, so that he could combine the video with the sound and share it on his social media platforms.”

He added that; “I didn’t take him seriously at first, but when he insisted, I decided to work on it and gave him the sound, which he combined with the video and shared the content on social media. Little did we know that we had just created a monster tune that is now the ‘Tenge Tenge’ vibe that has taken over the world.    

However, whereas Bossman is the man behind the sound production, Ugandan artist Boi Blaze, also popularly known as Shark, is credited for having developed the idea to produce the tune that is now famously known as ‘Tenge Tenge’, which is reverberating across the world.
