Ace music producer Bossman Wurld has clinched the record for producing the biggest Ugandan hit this year, dubbed ‘Tenge Tenge’, which boasts over 6 billion YouTube views and counting.
An electrifying Amapiano tune, ‘Tenge Tenge’, went viral on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and several media platforms, shortly after its debut, although very few people, if any, know that Bossman is the brand behind its production.
No song is bigger than ‘TengeTenge’ on the Ugandan music scene currently, thanks to Bossman’s exceptional production skills.
However, ‘Tenge Tenge’ is not only huge in Uganda because the hit caught global attention after American RnB star Chris Brown, international content creators like IShowSpeed from the USA, Noel Goes Crazy and other showbiz icons, picked interest in it and started pushing it across the globe through their content creation drives.
Speaking about how he came up with the idea of creating ‘Tenge Tenge’, Bossman, who is signed under Black Market Records, said it all started with a joke about a young Ugandan content creator, who looked funny to him.
“I was in the Black Market Records studios one day when my buddy called Boi Blaze showed me a video of a wide-eyed boy that had gone viral on TikTok. Due to the big engagement the video was attracting, he jokingly asked me to develop a tune, so that he could merge the video with the sound and share it on his social media platforms,” Bossman said.
“At first, I didn’t take him seriously, but when he insisted, I decided to do it, although even then with a lot of reluctance,” he added, explaining that; “He merged the sound with the video and shared the content on social media. The attention the video garnered within the first few weeks of its upload convinced us that ‘Tenge Tenge’ was a hit. But it wasn’t long before ‘Tenge Tenge’ spread to the world and continues to thrill billions of people across the globe.”
