The Zari Dancers Africa, who are a group of Ugandan teenage dancers, are literally giving other dance groups in the country sleepless nights because of the fast rate at which they are penetrating the music industry with astounding versatility.
This is because whereas most known dance groups like the Ghetto Kids, Masaka Kids and others concentrate on dancing alone, the Zari Dancers have diversified by blending dancing with music, thereby putting themselves in a class apart from the rest.
Indeed, it is a fact known world over that music only becomes complete if it is coupled with dancing and that is exactly what the Zari Dancers are doing.
Signed to Black Market Records, the Zari Dancers, after featuring in several videos done by various big-name artistes, decided to storm the Ugandan entertainment scene with their debut video ‘Kelewa’, which is a mind-blistering jam that has since gone viral on airwaves and digital music streaming platforms.
After ‘Kelewa’ performing excellently and being treated to a massive reception by their fans, the Zari Dancers are now set to drop a thrilling new titled ‘Dike’, which is bound to rattle the airwaves.
A blazing dancehall jam, ‘Dike’, which is set to raise the bar higher for other Ugandan dance groups, was produced by Cedric Singleton as Executive Producer and Tony Oceans as producer, and directed by ace videographer Brivian Bryan.
The Zari Dancers Africa initially started out as a simple idea that was hatched by a group of four youths who include; Zaina aka Zari, Josephine (DVJ Nagi), Mathew (Mc Mist) and Saudah in 2013, when they started gathering young kids from the neighboring ghetto homesteads and started sensitizing them about the effects of getting involved in criminal activities.
The group kicked off their commercial dancing career in 2013 and have since worked with several big-name artistes like; David Lutalo (Onsanuula), Daxx Kartel (Omupangisa), Mesarch Ssemakula (Onkuba), Aziz Azion, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Gravity Omutujju and Fik Fameica (Muko).
They Zari Dancers have also featured in many songs recorded by artistes signed to Black Market Records like; ‘Bambi’ by Mbuzi Gang, ‘This Boy’ by Angella Katatumba, ‘For You’ by Shakira Shakiraa, ‘Bwoti’ by Daddy Andre feat Fik Fameica and ‘Call Me’ by Junior Gentle.
